Spider Solitaire
What is Spider Solitaire?
Spider Solitaire is a classic single-player card game that challenges your planning and patience. Your goal is to arrange cards in descending order to complete full sequences, gradually clearing the entire tableau.
Unlike many solitaire games that rely heavily on luck, Spider Solitaire rewards careful decision-making. Every move can either create new opportunities or block future plays, making strategy far more important than speed.
How to Play
Objective
Clear all cards by building complete sequences from King to Ace.
Gameplay
Arrange cards in descending order.
Complete a full suit to remove it from the board.
Deal new cards only when no better moves remain.
Controls
Mouse: Click and drag cards.
Drop cards onto valid stacks.
Hardest Challenges
Recovering after dealing new cards too early.
Managing multiple suits without blocking useful moves.
Finding hidden cards buried beneath long stacks.
Deciding when to sacrifice a sequence creates better long-term options.
Tips & Strategy
Empty a column early to create extra space for moving cards.
Avoid dealing with new rows until you've used all available moves.
Build sequences of the same suit whenever possible.
Reveal hidden cards before organizing completed stacks.
Think several moves ahead instead of focusing on one immediate match.
Real Experience
After several games, one lesson stood out: opening hidden cards is usually more valuable than finishing a sequence immediately. Keeping at least one empty column makes later moves much easier and prevents the board from becoming locked.
Compared with Klondike Solitaire, Spider Solitaire feels more strategic because poor decisions can affect the entire game several turns later. While some deals are naturally more difficult than others, careful planning consistently improves your chances of winning.
